HIGHLIGHTS
 On 16 January 2011, according to the MSPP, there were 194,095 cumulative cholera cases and 3,819 deaths.
 PAHO/WHO and local officials are investigating three cases of paralysis in recovering cholera patients.
 PAHO/WHO issued a position paper on the promotion and utilization of the home made ORS solution

PARA HOY VAMOS POR MÁS DE 4.000 FALLECIDOS POR COLERA EN HAITI, TAMBIEN SE PRESENTO LA PRIMERA MUERTE DE UN CASO DE COLERA EN REPUBLICA DOMINICANA CON 150 ENFERMOS.

REALMENTE EXPLICA ESTE CASO LA SITUACIÓN DE POBREZA Y POBRE SANEAMIENTO AMBIENTL EN ESTE PAIS QUE REFLEJA LO OCURRIDO DURANTE LA CONQUISTA DE AMERICA CON LA MORTANDAD DE MAS DE LA MITAD DE LOS INDÍGENAS A MANOS DE L VIRUELA, EL COLERA, EL SARAMPIÓN Y OTRAS ENFERMEDADES INFECCIOSAS NO CONOCIDAS EN LAS AMERICAS.
